In late January of 2007 Craig B. Snyder had several pieces in a San Diego, California art show entitled "Art for Life." The exhibit was organized by Chris Conway as a benefit for the Grind for Life, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people with cancer. Craig's work made up two of the more than 30 pieces, all working within the theme and concept of the skateboard deck as canvas. Other invited contributors included artists and professional skateboarders such as Kelly Lynn, David Hackett, Kevin Staab, Dave Swift, Cara Beth Burnside, Steve Olson, Desiree Astorga, Chris Miller and Steve Caballero.

Craig's solo piece for the benefit was entitled "Battle of the Brands." He also collaborated with skateboard manufacturer and wood guru Paul Schmitt (a.k.a. "The Professor") to produce a second piece called "1x2," a tribute to Mike Rogers, long-time skateboarder, two-time cancer surviror and founder of Grind For Life. The mixed media piece consisted of three photographs of Mike, placed inside a 7-ply maple & walnut handmade concave skateboard frame with an oil-rubbed finish.

Skateboard Hall of Fame

The 2007 Awards Ceremony took place on January 13, 2007 in Orlando, Florida this year during the Surf and Skate Expo and included the induction of eight new members into Florida's Skateboard Hall of Fame. Inductees this year were John Grigley, Chuck Lagana, Ed Womble, Rodney Mullen, Greg Meischeid, and Kit & Lynda Traverso. Also inducted was Jen O'Brien, spouse of Brazil's Bob Burnquist. Requirements for the HOF have been only skaters who have reached the 40 year mark, thus Rodney Mullen's belated induction. Jen, at 28, was the exception this year.

Craig has been a been an advocate of the Hall of Fame and was able to provide some of the photography and film footage that was displayed and shown at the event. George Wilson, Jimmy Plumer, Bill Danforth, Nathan Pratt and Bob Biniak came out to join the fun and partake of the specially catered VIP party before the doors offically opened. Also present were local heroes Alan "Ollie" Gelfand, Mike McGill, Bruce Walker, Mike Folmer, Paul Schmitt and many of the other Hall-of-Famers. This year's HOF event with its new venue, an ever-growing crowd and increased media attention turned out to be the cat's meow.
